Some problems need the gas company or 911 before they need us.
- You smell gas. Leave the house now. Don't flip light switches, start a car in an attached garage or use your phone inside. Once you're outside, call your gas company's emergency line or 911.
- Your carbon monoxide alarm is going off. Get everyone, pets included, into fresh air and call 911. Don't go back in until responders say it's safe.
- You see sparking or smoke from the equipment. If you can do it safely, shut the system off at the breaker. If there's smoke or fire, get out and call 911.
Once the house is cleared, call us and we'll find the cause.

Close blinds and curtains at night, and open them on the sunny side during the day. Close doors to rooms you aren't using. Let faucets on outside walls drip to keep pipes from freezing. Space heaters are fine if they have three feet of clear space around them and plug straight into the wall. Never use a gas oven, stove or grill to heat the house.
No AC in extreme heat
Close blinds on the sunny side, stay on the lowest floor and run fans. Drink water and check on anyone older or medically fragile. If someone gets dizzy, confused or stops sweating, call 911. If the house gets too hot to stay in, go somewhere cool until we arrive.
Water leaking
Turn the system off at the thermostat. If water is near the furnace, air handler or any outlet, turn off the power switch next to the unit. Catch what you can with towels or buckets, and use a wet vac if you have one.
Burning smell or tripping breaker
Turn the system off at the thermostat. If the smell is strong or the breaker keeps tripping, switch the breaker off and leave it off. Resetting a breaker over and over can damage the equipment and create a fire risk.
